From the first call to the finished handover.
Four stages, the same on every job — house raise, renovation, custom home or commercial. What happens at each, what you get, and who you're talking to.
The process
Four stages. One builder.
-
01One phone call · no pitch
The fit check
Tell us what you're planning, where the site is and where the project is up to. We'll tell you quickly whether JKC is the right builder for it — and if we're not, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.
- What happens
- A straight conversation about the project and the site
- What you get
- A clear yes, no, or "here's who suits better" — fast
- Who you talk to
- The owner. From the first call.
-
02Plans & engineering first · then the number
Planning before pricing
Final plans, engineering, sequencing and approvals are resolved before the price is. A quote built on resolved documents is a number you can hold us to — that's the point of doing it in this order.
- What happens
- Site, plans, structure and approvals worked through properly
- What you get
- A real number, built on resolved documents
- What we won't do
- Guess now, vary later
-
03One contact · no layers
The build, owner-led
The owner runs the job and stays your single point of contact. Decisions get made by someone whose name is on the business — not relayed through layers of supervisors.
- What happens
- The build, sequenced and managed on site
- What you get
- One person to call, and straight answers when you do
- The crew
- The same experienced trades, project to project
-
04Complete · certified · documented
One finished handover
The job comes back complete — built, certified, documented. Not staged, not passed to another contractor mid-way. One contract, one result.
- What happens
- Completion, certification and the paperwork done
- What you get
- A finished job — and a builder still here afterwards
- Since
- That's been the shape of it since 1972
Before you commit
What we'll be honest about.
We'd rather lose the quote than pad the job.
- Whether we're the right builder.
Cosmetic renovations, off-the-plan builds and jobs beyond our scale get a straight no on the first call — with a pointer to who suits better.
- What the final plans and engineering say.
If the plans or the structure won't support what you're hoping for, you'll hear it from us early — not discover it mid-build.
- What things cost to do properly.
We price the job that should be built, not the number that wins the quote round. If budgets don't meet, we'll say so respectfully and early.
- Timing, including the honest parts.
Weather, approvals and supply are real on every NQ job. We plan for them and tell you how they're tracking — not after the fact.
Asked on every first call
Straight answers first.
-
The owner. That's not a slogan — it's the operating model, and it's why we take on the number of jobs we do and not more.
-
Yes — North and Western Queensland is home ground. Building out west takes a different kind of planning, and we've been doing it long enough to know what bites.
-
We'll always give you a real number for the job done properly. What we won't do is thin the scope to win a comparison — the cheap version costs more by the end.
-
It depends on the pipeline, and we'll tell you honestly on the first call. What we won't do is promise a start date the schedule can't keep.
Four ways we put it to work.
