Privacy Policy
What we collect when you send us an enquiry, what we do with it, and how to have it changed or removed.
Last updated August 2026. JKC Building is committed to providing quality services, and this policy sets out how we manage your personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth); a copy of the APPs is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
What we collect
Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. The personal information we collect is what you choose to give us — typically your name, address, email address, phone number, and a description of your project. It reaches us through the enquiry form on this site, by email or phone, in person, or via our Facebook page. We don’t ask for anything we don’t need to respond to you. If you simply browse the site, we may collect standard, non-identifying analytics (such as which pages were viewed) to help us improve it.
Sensitive information
Sensitive information (such as information about health, beliefs or memberships, as defined in the Privacy Act) is not something we ask for. If it is ever provided to us, we use it only for the purpose it was given, for a directly related secondary purpose, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.
How we use it
We collect your information for one primary purpose: to review your project and get back to you about whether it’s a fit and what to expect. We may keep a record of the conversation so we can follow up properly, and we may use your details for closely related purposes you’d reasonably expect. We do not sell your information, and we don’t send marketing unless you’ve asked us to — and you can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us in writing.
Third parties & disclosure
Where reasonable and practicable we collect your information from you directly. If a third party provides it (for example, a referral), we take reasonable steps to make sure you know. We disclose personal information only to trusted service providers where it’s necessary to run the website and respond to you — for example, our email and form-delivery providers, bound to use it only on our instructions — with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.
Security & retention
Your information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it — noting that information held in client files is kept for a minimum of seven years to meet our record-keeping obligations.
Access & correction
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to update, correct or delete it, subject to certain exceptions. Contact us in writing; we don’t charge for the request itself, though an administrative fee may apply for providing copies. To protect your information we may ask for identification before releasing it. Keeping your information accurate matters to us — if something is out of date, let us know and we’ll fix our records.
Complaints & contact
For any question or complaint about this policy or how your information has been handled, contact us and we’ll respond as quickly as we can:
